nobody like that
Jun. 25th, 2010 02:00 pmToday I'm reading about the Dunning-Kruger effect. Basically, people who are incompetent, are unable to see that they are incompetent. Conversely, people who are highly competent, tend to assume others are as well.
I am also wearing socks with sandals, cos I am cool like that. No really it's because it's 60F and raining. At least they are grey socks with racing stripes, not thick black ones.
Last night Keely and I attempted to have a Gurlz' Night, but the other Gurlz flaked out. So we just sat at Bleu and chatted, invited JackH, and I told some funny stories about the times I hooked up with a 19-year-old. (
hotcrab loved to ask if we were going to the zoo.)
I've been checking out possible camping opportunities. Reg and I have been camping since like we got together, but we kind of hate the scene now. Too many awful white trash kids and drunken adults. So I've been looking at "dispersed" camping. You basically just find a flat spot and pull over. The downside is you don't get a toilet, but the upside is true solitude. A good idea for a holiday weekend.

Date: 2010-06-28 08:04 pm (UTC)A couple weekends ago I camped at Lyre River campground on the peninsula. It is first come first serve and is only 10 campsites. I recommend it as far as campgrounds go. You could still get lame neighbors, but since only 10 sites it's less likely. Though that also creates the problem of it filling up fairly fast(there were half the spots still open on the thurs night we went out there though). Also, Lyre River is close to salt creek rec area, where there are awesome tide pools and hiking.
