now that I have a droid

I decided I needed to pay down cards rather than buy a netbook or a laptop. So I got a new harddrive that is barely bigger than my phone and the same size as my other internal harddrive. The one that came with the computer is slowly failing, so I'm going to copy the OS to the other drive, having backed it up with the new external. The only problem after that is I still won't have enough memory, and this old IBM uses proprietary memory that I can't afford. I'd just as soon buy a new motherboard.
The other thing I was thinking about this week was eBooks. I'm not crazy about DRM of course, but the Seattle Public Library is teamed up with some eBook providers that use it. It's kind of neat, you can read them for 3 weeks, just like normal library books (except with no fines). But I looked up on the Droid boards and I can either use only Mobipocket books (which I haven't tried yet), or with the Adobe DRM format, break the files and use whichever reader I like to read EPUB files. I am not crazy about that last option, for some reason. I mean I've totally downloaded "free" electronic versions of other books, but breaking library books should not BE necessary. Bloody annoying.
(There is a reader that is almost in beta for Droid, the same one the iPad uses I guess, but that does me no good right now.)
