I downloaded some random music blogger's "march mix" and it had lots of stuff I hated on it. One of the things I hated was Pinback. I started talking to [livejournal.com profile] skipbreakfast about how every year indie rock gets gayer and gayer. In a non-masculine way, not in a good faggy disco way. If they didn't all have beards I would swear the singers needed testosterone injections. I clearly have more than they do, was my thought, and will donate. Anyway I was also sad that I couldn't go out Friday night (since I didn't get paid till today, and I had like $3 in my bank account).

Reg and I tried to watch Wilde but it was just so horribly depressing. Bosie was a completely spoiled upper-class twit with only beauty and youth being his redeeming features. And we all know he was going to sue the dad for calling him a somdomite and lose big-time, so we pretty much turned it off at that point, 'cos it just turns his life into a complete fuckin' traumatic tragedy. Also, Steven Fry was young and kinda hot back then.

(Reg totally has a straight-man-crush on Stephen Fry. Actually I think he'd probably do it with him given the option. My boyfriend is not as beautiful as Jude Law but pretty close. Apparently Mr. Fry was horribly anxious filming all those sex scenes with hot str8 guys. Awww. Anyway he downloads so many Stephen Fry things that it's ridiculous. He was listening to one radio show which was like a gameshow with odd rules where you had to make up a story based on a phrase but you couldn't repeat the phrase? It was awful but IT STILL HAD STEPHEN FRY.)

I read The White Album last week and have another of her books waiting for me to finish Sabbath's Theater, but over the weekend I let my brain go and read Piers Anthony novels (skipping lots of parts, of course). I really like the Satan book (For Love of Evil) but I've read it so many times that my eyes crossed at the beginning instead of halfway through. (The other reason I read these books, to kill my insomnia. My insomnia is a jellybean to Reg's Coliseum Jello-Mold, though.)

What else... finished Angel Season 3 and was all meh. This was the season where I stopped watching Angel, and the first half was ok but the second half was just so dark I could hardly bring myself to care. I liked 4 a lot more so I'm gleeful about that coming next. I guess I should watch the movies that Netflix sent between seasons, but two hours seems like such a long time to sit and watch one thing. I watched a bunch of VBS.tv docu-things to avoid this, in fact. They are so amazing. Welsh people are amazingly unattractive.

I could have totally lent you $ if I'd known you really wanted to go. I thought you were kinda "meh" about it.

My favorite Incarnations of Immortality book was the 1st, On a Pale Horse. But, yeah, I think Piers Anthony was safely left behind in my teenage years.

well i would have wanted to go with reg too, nbd.

That one is the best, aside from the Satan one. Although the Satan one is sort of a summary of all the other ones too, which is lame.

It's called "Just a Minute", and it's a cultural staple. It ran for decades with the same people on it, with maybe one or two guest slots.

Reg might want to check out "I'm Sorry I haven't A Clue", another eccentric piece of antique radio which Mr Fry frequently hosts.

I grew up on this stuff :)

Yeah, saw them last time they toured I think. Although I think they are more of a Depeche Mode ripoff. Which I LIKE.
