this is what it's like
Nov. 23rd, 2008 11:00 amReg's job is part time and he doesn't work on Fridays unless things are super busy. Last Friday he did but not this one, and it sort of feels like sharing a 3-day weekend with him. I am marking it by breakfasts. I am tortured because I like making him breakfast, but I really really love going to breakfast. (I blame the latter on years of diner experiences in college.) No matter what happens, an old lady pouring me coffee just makes me smile. Plus there are things I just can't pull off without a lot of prep work. Crepes and eggs and sausage are great but a pain in the ass. And I totally can't make waffles man. Yesterday, it was biscuits and sausage gravy. Ang mentioned it Wednesday at the Twilight Exit, and when we got to the Ballard Smoke Shop I was all over it. Although not really because, in true diner fashion, it was way too much food. I ate what I could and waddled home holding Reg's hand.
