Kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994, and Princess Diana was killed in 1997. Between these two events, Oasis released 3 albums, two that were rather good. Little-known bands Blur and Pulp also released some good shit, and some lesser-known British bands made some money when their music was featured on some obscure Scottish indie film known as Trainspotting.

Enough with the understatement. I rented Live Forever last night, it's basically summed up by the above paragraph. It could have had a lot more info in it, but I enjoyed it as a soundtrack to 1995-96. Plus for some reason I always forget how good-looking Damon Albarn was, to the point that when I first saw the video for "Girls and Boys" I thought they were a pop-boy-band. I still like about five Blur songs, although I've never been able to listen to their albums all the way through. And amazingly enough, Liam is still a complete tosser who should never be allowed out in public unless it's to sing. And Noel has the right amount of swagger. And Jarvis still has huge hands.

I still dig (most of) the first three Oasis albums as well, and some of the b-sides. One time, my buddy Keith mocked me for defending them, and I answered the call to arms with a little 45-minute best of CD. It opened with "Fade Away," went straight into "Listen Up" -- I was playing for keeps. I don't think he ever listened to it. I, however, made a copy for myself ended up listening to it a lot.

I remember one of the first times Reg, Asa, Sid and I all hung out together and I played (What's the Story) Morning Glory over and over and over and over again.

I took my younger sister (who was, and still is, in love with Noel Gallagher) to see them in 1998 and it was great. Also, Sid occasionally looks a lot like Damon Albarn.

I have a lot of Blur, and I agree, I don't like ALL their songs, even though their albums have always been a staple at the parties I have gone to (along with Pet Shop Boys, but we don't have to talk about that). At some mindless job along the way, I got a double album that made my fingers move when my mind couldn't.

Funny, though, I never even knew what the band looked like, til I looked them up just now. Wow.

I think I may be digging on Blur the album later. But yeah aren't they Just Adorable?

as for me, I don't own every single Pet Shop Boys album. Oh no. Missing the first two.

I've been super bad about looking at bands in the past...oh, 20 years or so. I loved MTV when I was a kid, but I quickly realized that I would never be an MTV star, even though I have a better than average voice, because I don't have better than average looks, and that has irked me to the point that I rarely look at band, just listen.

But then, MTV ain't what it was when I was a kid, either. 'Nuff said.

But yeah. Adorable is a good word. New Fantasy Material are three others.

The ultimate destruction of said relationship resulted in Daimon moving in with a recovering over a broken hearted jamie hewlett, which ultimately led to the creation of cartoon rockstars.

Girlfriends, don't do drugs or the result can and will lead to Gorillaz
