The sun actually came out for a little while today. It made me wonder what proof there is of Seasonal Affective Disorder existing. I mean, correlation does not equal causation, and there's this whole placebo effect besides. Wikipedia is no help.

Anyway, as there are plenty of people blaming it for their mood, some helpful hints: it sounds like the full-spectrum lighting is a hoax, and if you want to use light therapy the brightness of the light counts more than the spectrum. Also, take Vitamin D supplements.

There was a study done a few years back on Icelandic folk... there <>is some sort of scientific medical evidence for SAD (and it's genetic), though what it is, I don't know off the top of my head.

ah, makes sense. i asked my left-brained dad to get me a sunlamp for xmas a couple years ago and he got me that, i was like, you so crazy. but he was right! cool.
