• Vegas would actually be a great town to have a vampire movie in. People are up all night, and die all the time in random sketchy ways.

• Alcohol is bad for you, but how fat can it make you?

1. Alcohol can slow your metabolism by as much as 36%.
2. Alcohol inhibits fat burning. (When the liver is processing alcohol, it doesn't effectively metabolize fat.)
3. Alcohol is a depressant,which has a negative effect on the dieter overall.
4. Alcohol can negatively affect exercise by lowering of the amount of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) entering the cells. ATP is the fuel for muscle contraction and immediate bursts of energy.
5. Alcohol is a sugar and can trigger carbohydrate cravings and hunger.
6. Alcohol also decreases a person's resolve to adhere to their weight control program. People often snack or eat in combination with drinking alcohol.
7. Alcohol contains calories that can interfere with weight loss.

I've also read that when you eat and then drink alcohol, the body will always try and burn the alcohol first, so it ends up storing the food as fat. (probably related to #2)
