I've got a laundry list of articles under the "duke_lacrosse" tag. The main thrust of that one is how the New York Times picked an angle - an angle that turned out to be wrong - and ran with it, contra the preponderance of evidence. They had the story in mind (white, upper-class athletes rape young black girl) and stuck to it.

Some of the Duke faculty were just eating it up. Any excuse to resurrect racial injustices is a good one for some, regardless of the facts. I'm all for taking every opportunity to rectify injustice, but not by throwing the inocent to the wolves.

When the one prof described the lacrosse players as the elite, the kings of campus I had to laugh. The lacrosse team?? I didn't even know we had a lacrosse team. I wonder if that prof has heard about a group of guys called THE MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM??? Ha! They were the only "kings of campus" I ever saw, and apart from the occasional egotistical ass (*cough*Christian Laetner*cough*) they were all kind, gentlemanly students.
