it's the same here in portland. i heard a joke recently that suggested that the prime customer for starbucks would be an alzheimer patient. one could have a cup of coffee, step out of the coffeeshop, cross the street and stop in front of another SB. "oh, coffee! that sounds like a great idea!"

My favorite site is on Robson street in Vancouver, BC - two starbucks stores on opposite street corners across a busy intersection. Talking about instant gratification... you don't even have to cross the street to get your shot.
