It's misting today.

There is a wide misconception that it rains all the time in Seattle. This is patently false. When it does actually rain, in the manner that most of the country is familiar with, everyone freaks out. But the mist here is what you would expect people with no senses of humor to call "Seattle Sunshine." It resembles fog but the moisture is a little more concentrated, and the visibility is slightly higher. Also - and this is key - it stays around all day long. Well, not today but usually. It's hell to be on the road in but fine to walk around in.

It looked like rain this morning, so I didn't ride my motorcyle to work. The ride home would have been nice, since the sun wouldn't have been blinding me for once, and it was dry. Damn misleading clouds. Down with ambiguous weather.

I actually read somewhere that NYC has more rainy days on avg. than Seattle. The amt. of rain in Toledo or Detroit probably even rivals Seattle's rain. I would rather be in Seattle.

Florida averages the most rain of any state in the US, but people still call it "The Sunshine State".

yeah, in southern FL and LA (and I assume MS and AL) it rains every single day in the summer at about 3:30pm. It stops at 4pm though.

I laugh whenever I hear people talk about the 'famous' Seattle rain. The whole reason I moved here is because it is a tropical paradise here.
There are parts of southern cali that get more rain than Seattle.
