lots of burger and mexican fast food places that are not ass.
lots of nice beach areas
con:
everything is really far from everything else and no one seems to find anything wrong with this
8 hours of "rush" traffic
90+ degree weather
soft water

Date: 2006-09-06 07:20 pm (UTC)The absurd population density probably contributes as well.

Date: 2006-09-06 07:12 pm (UTC)Yes I do.
After awhile the good burgers wear thin and all that's left is sitting in the heat and smog, stuck in traffic fro two hours a day.
On the upside, my house is tiny and no one speaks english.

Date: 2006-09-06 08:22 pm (UTC)Los Angeles: putting the "sprawl" in "urban" since 1850.
It's not so much that no one finds anything wrong with it as everyone's just resigned.
And don't knock the weather. L.A. during July/August ain't great, I grant you, but it still beats 90+ with one hundred percent humidity, which is what I used to have to deal with.
If you come to L.A. in any other season, it's almost uniformly gorgeous. Late fall/early winter is my favorite; temperature is usually in the 60s during the day, and drops to the upper 40s at night - just cold enough for you to need your fancy schmancy leather jacket to go out.

Date: 2006-09-07 02:27 am (UTC)I guess you can pretty much disregard everything I just said. Especially the part about the pizza; L.A. is about on par with the South pizza-wise.
