well, it's understandable because that's exactly where 'kobol' got its name... the creator of the oldschool BSG was most certainly a mormon. there are parallels everywhere in the show - when people get married, they get "sealed" for eternity, the number 12 (even including a quorum/council of 12 religious/gov't leaders, headed by a president) comes up all the time, the civilization originated in space, on kolobOL where man lived with the gods ("nearest unto the throne of god")... it's kind of out of hand. lost tribe of israel = lost tribe of earth. free agency, eternal progression, it's all there. kobol is identified by the tomb of aethena, kolob is identified by the tomb of the ninth lord. of course, my favorite show/scifi ever turned out to be mormonized. the lords of kobol work in mysterious ways....
