Yeah, and they replaced it with some dextromorphan, which I'm allergic to. I didn't notice until after I'd taken it. (It used to only be in NyQuil.) It put me in a total despairing depression for a few days.
actually they replaced it with phenylephrine. DXM is a cough suppressant which, I am pretty sure, has always been in Dayquil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DayQuil).
if you want real pseudoephedrine and not phenyleprine, you must do the following:
1. show proper identification (18+) 2. sign a logbook (name, quantity - no more than 2 packages - time, date) 3. physically receive said decongestant from store employee, who must get it for you from a locked location inaccessible to customers without their assistance.
in oregon, as of july, you'll need a prescription. i am not kidding about any of this.
