Reading my Esquire I learned about "the six-inch drop", which means that most suits are designed for chests being 6 inches bigger than the waist. They acknowledged that this is not as common as designers would like, and gave some advice. I asked Reg what his sizes were. "Thirty-eight and thirty-two." HE IS A TOTAL KEN DOLL.

This is the total TRUTH. I wearing a 32 waist/ 34 inseam and CAN NEVER FIND PANTS OR JEANS THAT FIT. Too many fucking fat guys everywhere...

You're not a man. Look in any department store and you'll find that the ratio of women's clothing to men's is usually 4:1, if not 5:1.

that's the same thing reg wears. I think it's actually a pretty common size, and that's why you can't find pants that fit.

i'm glad that they mentioned the athletic cut in that article. that was my saving grace when i went suit shopping last year, since i'm more along the lines of the 12 inch drop. it still doesn't keep me from having to get shirts tailored (even the fitted ones), but it's at least a start.

and (i'm guessing?) you don't have boobs. i notice you mention the ratio of women's clothing but not the ratio of women's bra sizes in stores! just because we have more "clothing" to choose from doesn't mean i can necessarily wear more of it...

eh, i'm not going to elaborate on my specific problem here, but trust me, the issues are quite similar.

though i'll tell you, they can't seem to make a decent pair of women's cargo pants, so i guess i am affected by the men's clothing problem too. ;)

You think that is bad. My guy is a 31/34. Try finding that anywhere. We run across several 32/34s in our searches. And you know when we ask anyone for a 31/34, they kinda laugh.

When I wore suits I had to get them MASSIVELY tailored. And the dress shirts were even worse. Because it turns out that the designers assume if you have a 17" neck, well you just MUST have a gut like a circus freak.

Ha, there was a time I wore 32 waist / 36 inseam.

I'm glad I put some weight on because its a hella lot easier to find 34 / 36.

Only my mom had the skills to find 32/36 where I'm the 5min shopper. if I can't find it in 5 min then I'm not buying anything.
