most of the fervor over low-cut pants seems to have died down. I was rather hesitant to speak in the height of the backlash, but now I will go on record saying that I love low-cut pants. Not really for anyone else, but for me specifically, they are totally awesome.

Why? Two reasons:
1) You don't have to worry about the butt fitting and the waist not fitting, because the low rising point means they don't come up to your natural waist.
2) Because I'm short, the non-juniors* brands do not even come close to hootchie-fying me. In fact, they still cover my belly button. But only just, whereas "normal" pants come up almost to my bra line.

* note for men: juniors are the odd-sized clothes, "misses" are even-sized. Typically the former is cut tighter and the latter is cut larger. Although, ten years ago a 5 did indeed equal a 6, but nowadays it's more like 6=9 if you're changing departments.

the main problem i have on other people is that they don't get the right size. I mean, it's ok to wear normal jeans that are too tight, because the fabric will hide all flaws, but with low-cut jeans it is unacceptable to be spillin' over, ya know?

I have a pair of really low cut ones, and I am afraid that I live in constant fear of showing plumber's crack when I bend down to do anything or lean over anything I may be working on.

Forget the resizing of women's pants, the whole "sizes" system is designed to make one feel slimmer. Men's pants are arranged by circumference of the waist and leg length. Since I presume few women have 0-9" waists, the "sizes" system merely substitutes for actual descriptions of the body-sizes the clothes are designed to fit.

Also, chicks showing ass because of low-riders can be pretty attractive. I've yet to meet a heterosexual male who would complain about a free ass-peep who wasn't trying to sell me a religion.

I agree on the love of low rise pants. For me it was a savior. Because I'm short waisted (ie: all boobs and legs, there's 2" between my lowest rib and my hip bone) I've always worn my pants at my belly button so fashion changing just meant that they finally fit me in the hips instead of having to buy pants that were way too big in the butt but fit me around the belly button.
