My first friends only post

I'm not sure who I was hiding it from. I could have been from my family, or it could have been my girlfriend who I don't think had livejournal yet or maybe didn't use it very much.

The first friends only post that actually has content I'm hiding because it's about my Brother-in-Law. We had a fight because of stuff I posted in here that he saw. It was my first lesson in being careful about what I write.

I don't post friends only very often. maybe 10% of all my posts are.

I think I've made maybe a dozen posts at most that were subsets of friends-only (I don't think I've ever made an actual friends-only post, I'm always trying to restrict it from one person or another.) That's over almost five years, and according to LJ, almost 2,900 posts. Not much of a percentage.

First one was perhaps two years ago.

I have a jackass ex that won't stop reading mine, and was commenting "anonymously" for a bit. Not to mention the other ex, and Helen. Fer fucks sake, it should all be friends only.

But now, as I don't have to deal with these people, it's my family that's run across it (from the Helen ordeal).

How much do you censor yourself, you know? I mean, certaintly the drug filtered, or what-have-you... but, I'm tired of people having weird ammunition against me from MY OWN DAMN JOURNAL.

I went pretty high friends-only % when the jackass who beat up reg started commenting on my shit. But that had nothing to do with my content.

I haven't, but that's because I keep my internet life and real life relatively separate. One night I got drunk and LJ-outed myself to an IRL friend, and that led to my LJ existence being leaked to my brother and other IRL friends. Looking over the content of what I had written, I realized that it wasn't a big deal since I hardly ever make entries and they're all pointless.

I try to reserve friends-only posts for bitchy rants about other LiveJournalers. It alleviates the pressure to friend others back when I know there's really not much for them to see.

I think I'd had mine for two years and been posting in it for well over a year before I made my first FO post.
