I'm curious as to how many people got it right. =)

I had no idea. I thought it was a turnip. Root vegetables are not so popular where I grew up.

They're so closely related and look similar enough, saying it was a turnip is a totally fair answer. =)

I'd never even heard that one before. You learn something new every day.

Silly Brits.

I read a shitload of british fiction so I'd heard of it, but had no idea what it is. But now the idea of rural brits putting it in curry is pretty funny.

I would have called it a Swede, since I lived in britain with people who would eat crap like that, but never saw a rutabaga in the US.

But I was out eating lots of crab legs and trying to get on a helicopter (and failing)

I'm pretty sure the inch-cubed chunks of "turnip" in the freezer at the supermarket don't come from root vegetables that are only an inch in diameter, anyway.

Have you ever seen "rutabaga" spelled correctly in a grocery store? Seriously, ever?

I don't really see them in grocery stores anyway. Not because they aren't there, just you know. I don't care. At all.
