Got a new battery for Reg's (now mine) 15G iPod. I feel like a fucking rockstar now that i don't have to recharge the fucker EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. I listened to it this morning and the battery graphic is STILL ON FULL. It's like 2003 all over again!

ipod batteries are such an egregious example of planned obsolescence.

I think they're more of an example of the general public not knowing how to properly care for a rechargable battery and then looking for somebody to blame when things don't work out how they wanted.

Disagree vehemently.

I've found that rechargeable batteries for cameras and cell phones last about two-three years, but the iPod battery only lasted one.

There's pleanty of people with 1st gen ipods who's batteries are still going strong. It all comes down to how often you charge it and for how long; the ipod battery is no different from any other lithium-ion battery.
