Karaoke at Ozzie's was acceptable. It's close, but the drinks are pricey. Bring a flask. Ahem. No, don't. Anyway, the selection is pretty good, one of those big ass books, which they seem not to have a ton of, but some of the songs are a little off-key. I did "Ziggy Stardust", "Your Woman," and "Just What I Needed" with Ang and Reg, and "Bizarre Love Triangle" with Reg.

Considering it was the first time we'd left the house since The Bloodying, it wasn't too bad. Might make it a semi-regular karaoke event.

What kind of karaoke DJ keeps "Ziggy Stardust" on his repertoire?

I'd love to do this as a duet, with someone with a quality tenor / contralto doing Bowie's high-chinned, heavy-accented parts, and with me chiming in for the angry guitar choruses ("BUT WHERE WERE THE SPIDERS?").

If only karaoke didn't suck in Boston. Damned college kids.

i miss karaokeing. in phoenix, my watering hole was a bar that had it 7 nights a week just two city blocks from my house, so i would at LEAST go fridays after work for free hotwings and nachos and 2 for 1 well drinks. helped me to keep my voice in shape, too.

alas, i've lived up here for... two years now? and i've been like 5 times. and coupled with the fact that i don't drive and thusly don't sing in my car at the top of my lungs anymore, my voice definitely leaves something to be desired now.

yay for karaoke!

We have a local karaoke bar here, it's not bad stuff. I honestly forgot how I got into karaoke and all, it just kind of happened. With it, though, there are some labels that do decent jobs and some that do utter garbage with songs.

Our karaoke shenanigans generally go unrivaled, although there some cats up there that do some good stuffs. My buddy Reginald does the world's best Billie Jean, dances and all. Last Saturday == Most Fuctup Night At Starz Ever.

Pics at http://www.livejournal.com/users/andirawks/166016.html?view=374400 ; be forewarned, they're a bit... odd.
