i took four advil, and my head still hurts. should I take more?

edit: I took three extra strength tylenol.

you can take 2 more and then you're at the maximum recommended dose for a 24 hr period. consider that the headache may be induced by
stress
dehydration
hunger
lack of sleep

if none of these fit, then maybe take another 2. It's bad for yr liver and kidneys thoguh.

Do not exceed 3200 mg total daily dose. As discogravy mentioned, it can be hard on your kidneys. It can also be hard on your gastrointestinal system.

Do not exceed 4000 mg total daily dose of tylenol. Doing so risks liver damage.

Do not mix either with alcohol, especially large doses of tylenol. Mixing alcohol with a large dose of tylenol can result in a lethal drop in blood pressure.

How often are you getting these headaches? How long do they last? Have you been to a neurologist? Pain specialist?

It was pretty much muscle tension - I took neurontin later and felt absolutely fine.

Anyway, I only took 1400mg of advil (4 pills?), and 1500mg of tylenol. It was pretty much due, as I said, to sleeping without a pillow.

Be cautious with neurontin... Pfizer lost the class action suit on that drug. Apparently it was only supposed to be used for epilepsy and then only after all other methods had failed. It can cause people to become suicidal... as was my experience. But then I was also on 2700mg/day.
