So I saw Le Divorce a few days ago and I was thinking about it this morning, because frankly I'm bourgeois enough that a 23-yo woman having an affair with a 55-yo man freaks me the hell out. Of course, even when I was 12 I was rather suspicious of all the high school guys hanging out at the skating rink, and when my best friend asked me if I thought a four-year age difference (then) was too big, I was like "Gosh!"

same here. but i'm discovering that it depends on the guy, now that i've reached "adult" age. still, i think i'll stick to people younger than my own dad :P

the biggest age gap in someone I've dated was 5 years older. Guys over thirty made me feel really young, but now that I'm 27 not so much.

ha, none of the Older/Sameage guys I dated were interested in relationships, so I had to go younger. Boyfriend's 4 years down.

well.. the same's happened to me.. my only actual "boyfriend" was 2 years younger than me, and a fling that i was hoping *might* become something else eventually totally flaked on me and wanted nothing resembling a relationship.. he was 25. so i know what you're talking about.

The oldest guy I've dated since my divorce was 38, 11 years older than me at the time. He was a lot less grown up than any other man I've ever dated, but dammit we had fun. I stick to 27-35 year old guys for the most part, or at least I did when I was dating. My mother and I were discussing the vacation I'm planning for the girls next summer and she said "You should do it on your birthday, you'll be 30 this year, remember?". Like I needed a reminder of that.

Not me. I like them 30-35. Late 20s is okay, 28 or 29. I like the people I date to know themselves really well, and the conclusion I've come to is that age plays the biggest factor in that. People in their 20s are too freakin neurotic for me, and if they aren't neurotic (which is like, never), they are usually too young to have the patience to deal with my neurosis.

I still have this perfectly symettrical 9-years-in-either-direction age-difference record going. I prefer younger to older, but that was just my preference. Older was admittedly wealthier, more successful and better in the sack...but baggage, baggage, baggage.

Also, I have seen guys in their fifties and, dude, they look old! It is rather creepy.
