Read The Romantic Movement and Kiss & Tell, which are like, um, chicklit books written by a guy who's obsessed with Proust. Really pleasant yet not vapid. Light and airy but not overly so, I guess.

Also afraid that I'm going to become obsessed with Six Feet Under. I don't even think it's that good - that is to say, it's really a soap opera with annoying characters, but very good writing within those constraints. Just like every show I like, I guess, but I'm feeling worn out with stereotypes and ordinary people. Need more Angel I guess.

The Sopranos, which I'd never seen before 2 weeks ago, is just a soap opera with gangsters. The Clinton references are unrefreshingly pre-9/11.

I've only seen the first season of 6FU, but the most interesting character was easily the toe sucking girl's gangsta boyfriend. I would def date that guy if I was gay.

The only Buffy I ever saw was the movie. Well, that's a lie, but the two I have seen were boring because without the context of the slayer soap opera interpersonal nonsense, there ain't enough fake looking vampire action to keep a viewer sitting there. Which is to say, I was trying to figure out which one was Luke Perry.
