I didn't much like Transatlanticism the first time I listened to it either for pretty much the same reason. It didn't have 100% of that DCfC "sound". Now though, it's one of my favorite and has held the number 3 slot in my 6 disk changer for months and months.
"Title And Registration " is one of my all time favorite DCfC songs ever, as is "Death Of An Interior Decorator". "..Interior Decorator" has to be one of the best songs about suburban love ever.
