more music
Dec. 15th, 2003 11:05 amYeah, so, apparently I'm only going to events where people I know are putting them on. Which is cool, as I seem to know a lot of people. Last night was no different, skipped over to the Sunset Tavern, and um, man, I must reiterate how much I miss teh hard stuff. But, I had wine ("that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking") and anyway I was there for the music.
Sid's band opened, kicking ass as usual. Post-punk science fiction heavy metal, melodic strains and Sid just screaming, as Reg put it. Second band, not so great, which is oh-so-typical in these small local shows. Also typical, the third band, Infomatik, was fucking incredible. I didn't stay for the whole act but damn. Flock of Seagulls mixed with Early David Bowie and a healthy dash of neo-punk. "They were not generic," I said with glee as I left.
