Yeah, so, apparently I'm only going to events where people I know are putting them on. Which is cool, as I seem to know a lot of people. Last night was no different, skipped over to the Sunset Tavern, and um, man, I must reiterate how much I miss teh hard stuff. But, I had wine ("that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking") and anyway I was there for the music.

Sid's band opened, kicking ass as usual. Post-punk science fiction heavy metal, melodic strains and Sid just screaming, as Reg put it. Second band, not so great, which is oh-so-typical in these small local shows. Also typical, the third band, Infomatik, was fucking incredible. I didn't stay for the whole act but damn. Flock of Seagulls mixed with Early David Bowie and a healthy dash of neo-punk. "They were not generic," I said with glee as I left.

Sid wasn't just screaming, he was screaming melodically and charismatically, with doses of quieter sing-talking in between screams. Awesome. Damn, but that boy has a set of pipes.

very true. As I said last night, "it's going to be great when his groupies start following him to karaoke."

Infomatik, no R, um, dunno if it's the same band as they have no record out or anything yet?

Ah. No. Not the same band, then.

I'm quite fond of my Informatik album.
