I found this to be a fairly interesting link. Although I literally only know like three guys who are into sports. Well, I guess I went to school with people who were but that crossed gender lines. I don't really think of basketball as all that severely manly a sport, anyway, since my college roommate was way into the NBA (as well as tennis). Besides I don't really consider someone being "into sports" if they're only into basketball or baseball. Or even only hockey or only football. My dad was into football, basketball, and baseball, and I was so bored Sunday afternoons growing up because of this.

In other news, I finished Candide, and I'll have my eggs in the Age of Enlightenment.

It is amusing, the lengths that women will go to to evade the fact that they simply suck at sports.

I can't speak about the growth in attendance, but the massive growth in salaries (not just in Football, but in all professional sports) is solely due to the creation of the free agent market. The Curt Flood case opened the doors to a free market economy in sports salaries, and the players have never looked back.
