Isn't it illegal for a German to be governor of California? I mean I thought only Mexicans could get that job.

Speaking of which, we just saw Once Upon A Time In Mexico to complete the trilogy. And um sorry [livejournal.com profile] thesadpunk but Enrique's stupid mophead did nothing for me. Anyway I really enjoyed it except for the um gross parts. But the stupid Depp oneliners were great. I think it was a bad movie but it was so pretty and so very over the top, that what can you do? It was like John Woo in Mexico City. And I love teh Woo. (Or as I kept saying "It's the Army of Darkness of the trilogy." Or "Spy Kids+Desperado.") Desperado is a better script but this was on a huge screen and more fun. Granted there were no sex scenes, but um, Johnny Depp. Yeah. Exactly.

Plus, y'know, they had PISTOLERO by Juno Reactor in it. That was weird yo.

I think Rodriguez was just having fun. He made all that movie with the stupid spy-kids franchise and he just went home and shot a really fun movie.

We did too. But the violence creeped me out, and Johnny was yummy as usual which is why i didn't walk out.

It was good-good.

That movie was delightfully absurd. I do not know how anyone could criticize a flick that ends with Depp running around like Oedipus meets Michael Jackson meets Mexico.

ah the guilty pleasures

I thought it was just about the worst movie ever, but the soundtrack was kickin (so much so I bought it, but then I am kind of indulgent when it comes to music lately on account of working in the damned record store and getting things at cost). I think though, that there were just a few too many one liners.

Though, I must admit, I almost died laughing when Depp said Savvy in it. So did half the theatre. It was so ridiculous.

::wrinkles nose:: oh so ridiculous...

I generally feel that a movie can only be good-bad when the supposed 'badness' is unintentional but the movie proves entertaining because of how terrible it is.

This movie was exactly what its director intended, which was to be utterly fabulous.
