lauralhGrowing up in the South, where we regularly had 99% humidity and 99 degree weather, I was not much for the outdoors. Not that I knew any better, but I often would get dehydrated and near sunstroke if I played outside. So, I didn't really. I was definitely the palest child in my school. Apart from my brother, I mean. I got better when I was older - I learned that March was ok to be outside, and October, but that was about it - but then I went to a college that didn't have airconditioned dorms. Well, not most of them. It didn't get quite as nasty in North Carolina as it did in southern Louisiana, but it was bad enough. Fortunately every other place on campus DID have A/C, so it wasn't a huge deal. Nonetheless I preferred to be nocturnal for several reasons, including that one when it was warm. So I used to totally joke that I was a vampire. Not in a sad goth way, but just in a "I hate the sun" way.
Seattle doesn't really have that heat problem, but when it's 88 degrees in my house, I lose all urges to move. I felt so incredibly lethargic today and just could not bring myself to do anything (apart from rant). But as soon as the sun started going down, I felt vibrant again. Maybe I am a vampire.
Although I kind of want to just stay in and watch gay porn.
