  • the "security checkpoints" at the airports are laughable, at least at Sea-Tac; they made you stop, made sure you were white I guess, then waved you through after two seconds of looking from a yard away.
  • two phone interviews today, first one was a cinch, second one probably will be harder, since that's the job I want. well, we'll see.
  • there was some wacked-out shit on 99 coming back from the airport this morning. Took over an hour for them to clear out the (I suppose) accident, but then the 7 cops decided it would be a great idea to stay blocking the left lane with 4 cars while they stared at the damaged railing. I hope that it wasn't an accident, because DAMN how hard would a car have to hit the concrete/girder railing and bust it up?
  • Someone thought it would be a good idea to kiss 26 people during my party. Well, for me to, at any rate. Actually got up to 30 when some people complained about missing out. That's what tequila does to you, I guess. Hope I don't get mono.
  • Kid Koala tomorrow night, Sharpshooters Friday, and oooh, Soundtrack of Our Lives in a couple of weeks.

I love how Seattle cops just converge like that, when they don't need to. I guess it takes 7 cops to monitor a broken railing, because obviously that's more important than harrassing the potheads at bus stops, which is obviously more important than finding somebody committing a real damn crime (I saw 4 cops and 1 sheriff questioning some guy at Aurora village a couple of weeks ago. They sat there bugging him for about an hour, and even though he was carrying they couldn't search him or anything, so they just sort of tried to harrass him into giving himself up.)
I feel sorry for anybody that hit one of those railings hard enough to break it.

I think the kissing people was my idea, but the 26 people was yours.

Under Washington's constitution police can't do random searches, they need to have some reason they can put in writing for stopping your car and searching you.

So that's what they were doing, looking for a reason. Same thing happened to me when I was dropping off Susanna and we thought it was funny too.

When Steve and I picked up Jim I didn't go through it because I wasn't sure about getting searched, esp. as my car is so filthy it could be thought to be harboring W of MD, so I just ranted, "What are we, in Japan here?" as we drove to general parking.
