girly crap
Feb. 25th, 2003 03:23 pmA multimedia exhibit on "girl culture." Funny sad heartwarming etc. Worth seeing.

I just watched my new favorite romantic comedy (well, I'll put it in under Addicted to Love): Someone Like You. Jane falls for Ray, who has a girlfriend, and he of course tries to have his cake and eat it too. Enter Eddie, the straight-talking womanizer who of course has a heart of gold. But nonetheless he wants new cow too. (There's this whole thing in animal husbandry where the bull only goes after cows he's never had before, so Jane makes up this whole theory about men doing the same thing.) Anyway it's slightly predictable, but still almost dark enough to satisfy me. I think it would have been way funnier if Eddie went back to his old girlfriend at the end, but of course not really a happy ending. And teh romantic comedy must have teh happy ending. But as long as everyone is properly snarky during the movie I'm happy. Plus, I think Hugh Jackman is the new Rupert Everett (except not gay, I hope).
