I watched the "Director's Cut" of Highlander last night. I'd never seen it before so it was lost on me, I'm sure. Christ what a bad movie. Made all the better by the director actually giving a fuck. I mean there were some kind of neat shots and transitions and stuff. Plus the cut scene with the Nazi was GOLD:

Whatever you say Jack, you're the master race.

right before shooting him dead. Well I thought it was funny mainly because A) Nazis are funny and B) the Highlander is an immortal and they're kind of the master race.

But now I'm confused as to what the hell the point of a sequel was.

Despite being only slightly above the average in success, the big cult following made them think, "Hey let's drink a lot of vodka and write a sequel." The second movie is really one of the worst films I have ever seen, truly ridiculous and downright insulting to the viewer. I really thought one of the biggest draws of the first one was not just the well-executed historical transitions, but Clancy Brown played one hell of a villain.

As a fan of Highlander, I don't know what to say except if you thought that was bad, then check out Highlander 2, which was abysmal.

well I mean "bad" in that good way. I figure if you're gonna make a bad movie, go all the way. But yeah I have no desire whatsoever to see a sequel.

Sean Connery.... In every movie he's in, he speaks with a Scottish accent... regardless of the nationality of his character. So, in Highlander, he's in a movie full of Scots, and they make him a Spaniard. WHAT THE HELL??????

Plus Monsieur Lambert had the worst scottish accent EVER. They could have at least have said he lived in France for a while to explain it...
