OK, you know you're a dork when you read something mocking Elektra using her real name for her "superhero" name and you want to sneer derisively saying "Shows what you know, she ain't a superhero."

So we now have a roommate, it seems. I was afraid she'd want to talk to me this morning, because she's a little chatty, but apparently I avoided it. Looks like I have a new reason to get up in the morning (she works most nights) and clear out.

Oh my god, it is next to impossible to wax one's own armpits. I think I may actually have to pay someone else to do it for me if I'm at all serious about it. My arms ache from holding them above my head. Also from benchpressing.

I just watched one of the first season Seinfeld episodes, back before Jerry's dad was um, whomever played him in later years. (The first actor was nearly bald, too. And not quite as annoying.) It was the first mention of Art Vandelay (originally he was supposed to be Art Cordelay, apparently), and the only explanation I ever heard about why Elaine and Jerry broke up. (Basically they fight a lot and have a lack of physical chemistry.) I can't believe that was first shown in fall 1990. That was 12 fucking years ago.

(Granted I didn't watch Seinfeld till season two or three, but still. I also used to watch The Simpsons; every single episode every week until maybe 1997. Joel once said that those two shows raised the bar for what we consider "good" or "funny" television, and I can't argue.)

wax-on-spa on 15th is a good waxing place. not that i'd ever do my armpits, because that sounds like the most painful place to have that done.
