I can't believe how tired I am. I think it's a combination of no sleep on Friday + no food on Saturday, though. Hence the ten hours today and the bagel right now.

I'm kinda glad that we missed Helio Sequence now, because the last show ended around 10:30 and I would have been really music'ed out. The only band that I really was familiar with that I saw yesterday was Death Cab for Cutie. Let's see what it says about the last time I saw them:

I have only been to the Cat's Cradle a couple of times, but both times there had been a LOT more people than there were Friday night. Anyway, I have to say I liked the first opening band a lot more than the real band, but that's just b/c Jazz Butcher Conspiracy opened with some stuff which I would refer to as "adult contemporary." So I think I may just have to buy a Death Cab for Cutie CD.

This was May 8th, 2000. I didn't, I just downloaded a bunch of MP3s. They played all but two of them, too, so I was pretty happy. Plus a couple songs that I didn't know but were freakin' intense and really got me goin'. Anyway they were the last show and I was very glad that I wasn't too tired to stay for them. And the high schoolers didn't actually piss me off too much, mainly because I could actually see over most of them.

The other two bands I was happy about seeing also played my top songs (Modest Mouse=Night on the Sun, The Shins=New Slang), so that was great. I actually don't know much Sonic Youth but Kim Gordon rawks, of course.

And the highlight of the day was having a funnel cake, my first since high school.

I took the bus back - only person to get off at my exit, which was a little funny (if by funny you mean scary). Walked back home and saw a bunch of people sitting at our table, Erik's friends. I was just planning on surfing a little web and going to sleep, but I stuck around for a few minutes and ended up staying up till one just chatting. Wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, or maybe I was just still in a remarkably (for me) social mood.

Now I'm debating going in to work for a couple of hours. Ha, ok, not really.
