lauralhEven watching the local news now is depressing. Sex, murder, kidnappings, boats capsizing... At least the Mariners lost.
(As for national news, I gave up on that almost a year ago. It's not like there's anything I can do to make things less despicable. I have my email updates from activist web sites, and I send letters to my congresspeople, but that's about it. I still care to a certain extent about, say, the drug war and abortion, but caring any more than that is too painful. And basically a waste of my energy...)
