a weekend of pain...
Jun. 24th, 2002 09:21 amSaturday: Sat for about four hours in a hard-bottomed wooden chair at a BBQ, my bony ass poking at my (once-ample) cushioning until it produced bruises. The rest of the night I could only sit on very plush surfaces, and sleep only on my stomach.
Sunday: Played tennis for the first time in, oh, three years? And first real exercise of any sort since March. Right wrist and forearm ached so bad last night I could hardly lift a full glass of water. Legs don't feel great either.
Sunday: Couldn't find scissors so used a large knife to try to open a package. The knife slipped into my left wrist and ripped off a huge chunk of skin layers. I applied pressure while my housemate ran to get a bandage, and then kept applying pressure till we got someone else (with a less squeamish stomach) to wash and dress my wound. Any time there's a hint of touching near it, it hurts like a mofo.
