Finally went to check out Loop Loop at the Chop Suey last night. In theory it's really cool - people playing jazz backed up by a DJ breaking beats - but in practice it wasn't quite up to snuff. The jazz was too ambient and not "Herbaliser" enough. (Not me, the band.) Plus we were sort of stuck in a dark corner. (Which is OK, as we're surly alcoholics not there to socialize.)

Of course things got funny towards the end of the night when it was decided that I needed to "go to Rick's and get a lap dance." Granted if I'd known it was past midnight I probably wouldn't have encouraged this line of thought, but it fizzled out anyway. Next time we just need to plan ahead a little bit earlier.

I think you can imagine what I would've thought of that music. Ugh -- DJ + jazz is such a horrible trendyblackframedglassesambientnoodlingrot thing.
