The Hunger, with David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve, and Susan Sarandon, has a twisted European symbolic feel to it. They almost never actually show blood being drunk, but imply it in all sorts of ways. In fact, almost everything in the movie is implied. Every death, every act of lovemaking, very little is shown, and the word "vampire" is definitely never said. Beautifully filmed and acted, and every single moment means something. I'll admit the ending was confusing, but every other bit was worth it. As little dialogue as any New Wave French film, and brighter colors.
