economy of language...
Mar. 26th, 2002 11:22 amSometimes it pisses me off that someone like myself, who practically majored in English in high school and still reads quite often, uses such a small pool of words when speaking to people. My vocabulary in conversations basically consists of "dude," "yo", "right," "sucks," and "no shit." I suppose one could say that I can express myriads of emotions with very few words, but then I'm not at all distinguished from the masses of people my age or younger with IQs below 100. On the other hand, pretentiousness and pedagogy in conversation tends to be annoying as well.
