not enough hours in the day
Mar. 6th, 2002 04:52 pmI'm trying to remember how I managed to work out, write a web page, work on stories or screenplays, make dinner, and still watch an hour of TV every night back in North Carolina. Actually I remember exactly how I managed it, I just didn't do any work. Or at least, I didn't do more than 4 hours or so. I would work out at the fitness center in the building around 3pm, sometimes come back afterwards, sometimes not. After work I'd go shopping at a grocery store with not much traffic around it, or I'd have leftovers. I also got to work by 8 each morning, and spent two to three hours surfing/updating my web site(s).
Whereas here, I actually like my job, so I work most of the day. I still try to take an hour for lunch, but that's about it during the day. Well, OK, when I'm stuck on a problem I drop in here, but you know, that takes about 15 minutes or so. If I get home at 6:30, that in theory should give me 5 hours to do whatever I want, but somehow it never turns out that way. I guess I still feel the need to spend two hours surfing...
