On Vox: in irons, as some* would say

Friday night I conned Octal into picking me up from work, as we was in town for the weekend, and I met his "housemates" for the weekend, Keith and Craig, before going to Butch's on Aurora. Discussions and finagling followed - I still can't afford a nice gun, it looks like - and a moderately-priced shotgun was purchased, then we went back home. Ordered pizza from Snoose Junction then watched The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which was a lot better than I thought it would be. The virgin stuff is less amusing than his friend's reactions to it, I mean, and of course the introduction of the GILF (which is never actually said in the movie, but implied).

Saturday I made cookies. I've been making lots and lots of cookies, since all you have to do with the KitchenAid is toss butter and sugar and other wet ingredients in, ignore it for five minutes, then toss the rest of the ingredients in, ignore it, then put it on sheets to put in oven. Whole process takes maybe 20 minutes. Plus I've started making dough in large quantities, which allows freezing and reducing the time even more.

We invited a lot of people over, but most people were out of town or busy or asleep or just being jerks. Heather, Brandon, Quent and Hannah ended up coming over. We ate cookies and oranges and played Apples to Apples, then Uno Spin, which is a new version of Uno that was the only available version at Fred Meyer, I guess.

Heather brought her son Nate with her and we gave him some attention. He got seriously wound up and was figuratively bouncing off the walls. Funny shit but it was a lot calmer once they left. He's now actually going to remember us. We've met before but he wasn't walking then. We kept trying to talk to him rationally and let him play with my stuffed animals, but it didn't really work. He did like the Bugs Bunny cartoons, I think.

We hadn't seen or hung out with Q&H in months. They conceded that they hadn't really left the house much and wanted to make amends. More on that in my next post, I think this will do for now.
