lauralh: (something wicked this way comes)
We saw Prince last night for like, free.* It was nice. We had nosebleed seats at Key Arena but hell, big tv screens make up for it. I felt sorry for people between the screens or down too far to see either the stage or the screens. But I really felt sorry for the butterface girl in front of me, who had a really gorgeous body, "but." Really I didn't, she seemed happy.

Myself, I wore a sleeveless untight shirt and incredibly tight jeans. They were so tight they made my ass look flatter. It was impressive, but I was more impressed that I was capable of zipping them up after the bathroom.

Anyway he did mostly his own stuff the first hour, a medley of some older stuff, and then took a break, and then did some acoustic guitar shit. LITTLE RED CORVETTE!! Dang. I was happy, I could have left then, but didn't. He then started telling man-woman jokes, like "shopping ain't a sport." I found all this highly ironic coming from the dude who renamed himself after a man+woman symbol, and what's more dresses like Liberace.

The new album songs were indeed indistinguishable, but it was still lots of funky fun. I guess I can take jazz/funk about once a year, if it's a good show, and it bloody well was. He also did, as an encore, a bloody great 10-minute-long "Purple Rain," with audience participa-tion and everything.

Reg and Josh kept texting each other during the whole show, which was quite amusing and dorky. Especially when Reg's phone only worked in a 2-ft cube area.

In the interest of remaining sane and not homeless/jobless, I'm going to cease all weekday-going-out* ventures as of now. Negotiations may start if I get a shift that doesn't start at 7am.
