despite minor drama (which I mostly ignored) the weekend was really really cool. Friday we started at 4* then went to
henry711's going away party. It was a lot of people that I didn't know, but Reg and I split up and people started hitting on us (both male and female, really); every now and again we'd say "girlfriend" or "boyfriend," or Reg would come over and sit me in his lap or something to disabuse people. Hee hee hee. When we first arrived, we went to the basement to get our groove on - there was a funkalicious house DJ playing some lovely beats - and the floor just cleared, everyone was just totally watching us. Well, me, probably; I was wearing a cute skirt with a dragon on it, and fishnets and FM boots.
So yeah, good times. Will post incriminating photos of that later.
Saturday we went to Reg's place to watch The Last Samurai, which is one of those movies that is clearly just an action flick, but too concerned about it, and therefore inserts an undercurrent of blatant philosophizing. "West bad, East good." But the action scenes were fairly entertaining, and Tom Cruise is short enough to look ok in Japanese regalia.
After showering, we returned to my place and got ready to go out to Chop Suey for
endquote's birthday festivities. Hellafun time dancing and boogie boogie, and then we tried to get in touch with the usual dastardly crew. It took a while, but we made it out to a party down Pike. The theme was "candy rave" and it was just really amusing. Fun, small space, really quite chill, and generosity abounded. Reg and I stayed till a little past four.
Next day we managed to pry ourselves out of bed for sailing. Not much to talk about there, I got seasick as usual and just lay around the boat mostly. Near the end I went into the master bedroom, and Reg followed me in and cuddled me. Awww. I felt pretty icky till after we were about ready to leave, but at that point missing keys prevented the return. Couldn't find them, finally just bummed a ride from someone and then, Chinese food.
So yeah, that was it, and it was good. I actually felt up to socializing for once, not really sure why except that the people were different, and older? Also house parties are often nicer. Anyway. Supposed to karaoke tonight. Peaches tomorrow. WHIRLWIND.
