no one else says "boss" but me, do they?
Nov. 24th, 2003 11:30 amWeekend was fairly quiet. Friday started off with hanging at
kerrinb's party and trying not to stare at the cute British bartender.
alicetiara also showed up, which was rather convenient. We drove to Contour together. That was a little miserable, although I was so messed up I didn't really care. I kept being yelled at because the DJ's weren't playing house music. Apparently we've lost the night. Oh well. It's going to be nice having Friday nights free again, and also Brian Lyons is the replacement, and I like his shit.
Saturday I woke up feeling utterly marvelous, and proceeded to clean the hell out of the house. Although it doesn't look like it at all, because I got tired and bored. But I did laundry and two loads of dishes, and took out ALL the recycling. I mean ALL of it. We keep forgetting to do this, I blame Steve but whatever, it's now done, I got rid of a ton of boxes and bottles and shit. Also went shopping, bought a ton of food, so even if I can't weasel my way into a friend's Thanksgiving I'll be fine.
Went to see
brennx0r spin, and [insert LJ Name dropping] were all there. Heh. One of the good people was passing out scrip pills like candy, and I think we all got some good shit. I used to be fairly anti-pharms, but I have to admit that it was nifty not feeling any fear at this scene. I mean who hasn't nearly gotten banned from a club for buying drugs in the bathroom? I mean I certainly haven't, but hell.
So yadda yadda yadda, I didn't wake up till 2:30pm on Sunday. I made the best omelet thing ever, sausage (the loose kind), eggs, green pepper and onions. I had half a pound of sausage, which was way too much. I mean maybe if I'd put in six eggs it would have matched up, but I did only three and saved the other half for, well, tonight, honestly. I also made red beans and rice with the other half pound of sausage. Like I said, plenty. of. food.
Beyond that, and watching Kissing Jessica Stein (an excellent film btw), and um, writing another thousand words on my novel, I did very little, chatted on AIM and went to bed around one. I'm reading the Sex and the City book again, it's a lot funnier this time, since I know what to expect. I have this whole theory about comedy, well, Steve insists that Repetition and Exaggeration are keys to comedy, but I'm not so sure. But yeah, I do think the best comedies are those that are funnier the more you watch them.
