Another week has come to an end. More or less. I still don't have a job, but I've eaten lots of chocolate to compensate. I forced Steve to buy me some (but I made him dinner, so it all evens out) and I forced Rochelle to bring me some. She works at Godiva, I mean, it wasn't a huge deal. There was this one thing which was so totally awesome, I must force her to steal one piece per day till I see her again. It was white chocolate covering cashews, with a dark chocolate disk on top, and centered was a delightful raspberry gel concoction. Bliss, bliss, bliss.
Steve and I are on a bit of a comics kick - he's doing Watchmen and loaned me V for Vendetta. My god Alan Moore's stuff is miserable depressing shit. I finished book one and just didn't have the gumption to read anymore. Maybe I'll intersperse it with Batman Year One. I seem to remember that being - if not totally happy making, at least not really sad, either.
I fell asleep watching Vampire's Kiss last night. Also eating more chocolate, and goldfish crackers. Interesting combination, I tell you. I wonder if there's a generic version of goldfish crackers beyond the Pepperidge farm ones which are like worth their weight in gold or something. I dunno, I like Pepperidge farm's stuff - I grew up on those crackers, and got addicted to the cookies in college - but it's so expensive. At Duke you were forced onto the food plan, so the gourmet substances' prices in the grocery stores there didn't matter. You'd already spent the money so you'd may as well get good cookies out of it.
The ones I liked best were the ones with Macadamia Nuts. Which are basically solid fat, slightly more solid than butter at room temperature, but they melt in your mouth the same way. I used to spray whipped cream all over the bottom of these cookies, making a sort of open-face cookie sandwich. I was even more addicted to whipped cream than to the cookies. I once even ate nacho cheese doritos with whipped cream. I do not recommend that, by the way. Chocolate pudding and pretzel sticks is a far superior combination.
