it's for suckers I tell you

We were going to bada last night, except they had a cover. Met up with BP outside - he was parked right outside, and in fact sitting in his car. He was in an odd mood, he said "Can I ask you something? How can people marry each other and then after like five years still have ANYTHING to talk about? It's just 'how was your day, blah blah blah.'"Steve and I looked at each other, and he said "Do you need a new excuse to tell your mother why you aren't married?"

Later we admitted we should have made a joke about him and the other Romanian acting like husband and wife already, but I personally was a little shocked that he was even thinking about it. He and FS always said they'd get married within 2 months, since they're 2 months apart in age. And currently it does seem that FS may marry the girl he's with in Switzerland right now, and BP has found a nice rich girl that he seems to be somewhat afraid of. Not afraid of her per se, but afraid that she might be rich enough to be the one. (Love fades, diamonds are forever.)

Steve keeps saying the guy's about to hit bottom, and I guess if he does, that would be as good a time as any to marry himself off. I dunno though, it sounded like he'd be pretty miserable if he's married, but he doesn't seem terrifically happy now, either. The year ahead promises to be interesting, at any rate.

my own fruit pie

So far, aside from the generousalishas, I've only gotten myself xmas presents. Which is perfectly acceptable. My mother sent me a check (less than half of last year's check), and Jodi, Fara and Zach have sent me cards. I conned Steve into buying me a paid membership here, and Nick sent me an Amazon gift certificate he wasn't going to use. So I bought a couple of books. And in exchange for a paid membership Jimbo got me some books too. (Agyar, The Illuminati Trilogy, Flow My Tears the Policeman Said, Valis, and UHF. That last is not a book but still necessary.)
