I forgot to email Nick last night. Or rather, I didn't check email and didn't see him asking if I wanted to be picked up.

So after my flight finally landed (after CIRCLING and CIRCLING and "twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom") I waited in the miserable weather for over an hour to no avail, and finally had to call a cab.

Heads are going to roll.

So I'll write a bit about the concert and such.

I estimated that I'd seen Jump, Little Children about five times when I lived in North Carolina. All the times I'd seen them shared a number of common characteristics. The crowd was large, mostly female, and seemed to know every single song they played by heart. Last night none of these things were the case. I actually rather liked the venue (the Zephyr Club) - it seemed modern and airy, or at least recently renovated, and the band liked it as well. The sound was a bit questionable, but when is it not?

Anyway it was a good time. They rocked out, even with the mellow numbers on their latest album, but especially with the ones off Magazine and before. And of course there were a couple of Irish numbers - Matt wore a t-shirt that said "I'm not Irish but I play one on TV." I was happy that despite not knowing the songs, people weren't afraid to dance. (Well, MOST PEOPLE anyway.) And they played "Cathedrals" to a mostly indifferent crowd - besides our table, naturally. It was all good, except for the getting up at 7 the next morning...

The concert last night kinda made me want to live it up. I think I'm gonna try to see Fauna Flash tonight at the Baltic Room. Hey, if I can go to bed at 2 and get up at 7, I can certainly go to bed at 1 and get up at 8:30....
