was the cyclist drunk? I couldn't read that from the details. he must have been going at a decent clip to hit the side of the car with force like that (and to not be able to turn away in time). and not visually clearing an intersection before you blow a red light is straight-up dumb, especially if you are bombing down from cap hill.

I know it's kind of a bad idea, but I'd rather ride drunk than drive. I've actually heard of people saying "oh i'm too drunk to ride so i took my car" which baffles me. if you get that drunk its a good idea to throw yourself in a cab regardless.

it was after midnight and the guy didn't have a headlamp, barreling down 35th near madrona. so, maybe he wasn't drunk. We didn't really KEEP IN TOUCH.

like tats said, riding drunk will get you only killed.

yeah i'm inclined to think people shouldn't ride like that anyways, least of all after they've been drinking. it's definitely not a situation where you should be taking any extra chances.
