Buenos Aires is fabulous! La Boca is a little scary though...not really a place you want to be after dark. I recommend any part of Palermo. We stayed in Palermo Viejo and from there it was really easy to get around the rest of city via subway. Plus, Palermo is sort of the artsy SoHo-type district so you get to meet a lot of really interesting people, try out all kinds good food, etc. Lots of young folks too.
