Reg and I watched Sunset Boulevard last night, because he couldn't believe I hadn't yet seen it. He was right. Oh man, I didn't think I could love Billy Wilder any more than I already did. Like Reg said, "Why does dialogue not work like that anymore?" And I replied "Because Billy Wilder retired." [He died in 2002.] And as we both agreed, how the hell did this come out in 1950? We have suicide, murder, gigolo/kept boy-ism, and of course the bitter attack on Hollywood. So so good.

That's really funny because just last night I added Sunset Boulevard to the top of my Netflix queue (I've also never seen it).

[Although maybe it's not a total coincidence; I added it after seeing Patrick's two cents on it via my Netflix friends page, I think].

What the fuck did netflix do to the whole two cent system? Now it's called 'Your Notebook' and it's slow and not intuitive. Netflix sucks a little bit more now than it did a couple months ago.

Yeah, that really annoys me. And it seems like it's merged with the recommendation system - there are a lot of movies I want to add a note to and I want my friends to see it if they're thinking about renting the movie but I don't really want to broadcast the note to everyone. The two cents review was way better. My only complaint about it was that it was too short.

God, I love William Holden in that movie.
