In other news, no one knows exactly the number of war movies any one person can watch in a year, but Reg is valiantly trying to find out.

I mean, I love catch-22 and Dr Strangelove, but that's probably because I think war is stupid.

Oh, and I love that track on the "Snatch" soundtrack, BTW.

I really like war movies. I should get Reg's list of ones he liked.

I just saw that 1938 Sergei Einstein war movie the other day. On hindsight, it's interesting.

I went through a war movie phase a couple of years ago but didn't write down all of the movies I saw or what i thought of them.

Do you guysuse netflix?

They should use transients as stunt-doubles for war movies. You get a much better bloodspray when it's for real.

We use Ballbuster Online. We may be cancelling it soon, however, due to my recent torrenting adventures (not to mention the fact that Laural usually puts movies on the queue that she wants to watch--it's her account--and I'm usually hogging the TV with my s-video link and downloaded cartoons, movies, squirrel porn, etc. In any case, here's a list of some war movies which I quite enjoy. If you have any questions about a particular movie, or if you want a soda or cup of coffee or anything, I'll be right over there.

Gettysburg
Hell is for Heroes
The Great Raid
The Great Escape
The Longest Day
Patton
Midway
The Guns of Navarone
Where Eagles Dare
Stalag 17
Das Boot
A Bridge Too Far
The Bridge at Remagen
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Band of Brothers (mini)
Battleground
The Battle of the Bulge
Memphis Belle
The Siege of Firebase Gloria
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
We Were Soldiers
Black Hawk Down

Oh, awesome. Thanks, Reg. The only ones I've seen here are Das Boot, River Kwai, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon and Black Hawk Down -- all of which I liked quite a bit. I'll be adding this to Netflix.
