Bonny Doon mixed - Screw top bottle of course means bad. "Tastes like box wine." Sufficient for ending an evening but not starting one. Unless you're a wino and just drink it straight from the bottle

some rooster on a Syrah - Superior in taste and quality, but still a ten-dollar wine. Acceptable for sipping with cheese and apples.

Hrm. I thought the cockwine was fairly tasty, myself (assuming this is the same one they had at costco a year or two ago)

I haven't checked it out myself, but Ted on Queer Eye told me in one episode that "picnic wine" (wine with a screw-top) is becoming more acceptable and in style now, and he justified it by saying that the corking method isn't necessary in this day and age anyhow. So he said some really good wine makers are starting to do the screw. Who'da thought.
